Case Study: What do Platforms that Simulate Autonomous Driving Realistically Look Like?

At the 2019 SclaeUp 360° Auto Vision, automotive decision makers and leading technical professionals presented their challenges and solutions in developing and integrating latest sensor hardware and computer vision approaches for Level 5 automation.

In his webinar presentation, David Mear, Business Development Manager EMEA from VIRES, spoke about how to simulate environment sensors such as radar, lidar, and camera sensors, reliably and under industrial conditions.

Webinar description:
To efficiently validate the algorithms for autonomous driving at an early stage it makes sense to conduct tests in virtual driving scenarios. In order to realize autonomous driving simulation, high-performance computing platforms are required that are suitable for the execution of demanding sensor models. Raw data, 3-D point clouds, or target lists are generated at the required rate and fed into AD algorithms for deterministic and reliable testing. This webinar will show how to simulate environment sensors such as radar, lidar, and camera sensors, reliably and under industrial conditions.
